The main inspiration for the Lambri apartment was the beach atmosphere, with its light colors palette and blue reminding the sea. Taking cues from traditional fishermen's houses made of wooden planks, Gisele Taranto chose to use lacquered wood paneling to cover some walls and ceilings. The direction of the paneling rules varies, deconstructing the traditional rhythm and disguising doors, cabinets, and trapdoors.
The Lambri apartment stands out with its beach-inspired design and unique features. The relaxed, carioca atmosphere is achieved through a palette of light colors and brush strokes of blue, reflecting the sea. The careful choice of flooring materials in the social area, such as Travertine marble floors and off-white Stucco walls, adds to the Urban Beach concept, reminiscent of sand.
In terms of furniture and decor, the Lambri apartment combines contemporary Brazilian and Italian design with antiquariato furniture. The design team carefully selected furniture and objects, avoiding the "supermarket design" footprint. Bookshelves were designed to organize books, objects, and collections, scattered throughout the living room, bedrooms, and playroom, executed by CAP Israel Joinery.
The original circular floor plan of the apartment underwent significant changes, including the displacement of the couple's suite to face the sea. The pantry was incorporated into the kitchen, and additional spaces, such as a beauty salon, playroom, and two suites for the children, were created to meet the clients' needs.
Lighting design played a crucial role in highlighting artwork and creating the desired ambiance. LD Studio's lighting design project aimed to minimize energy consumption while maximizing performance. The apartment benefits from ample natural light during the day, thanks to its privileged location in the center of the site.
The Lambri apartment project started in May 2016 and was completed in July 2018 in Rio de Janeiro. Throughout the design process, the goal was to create a relaxed and calm atmosphere that seamlessly integrates the beach atmosphere from the outside with the inside spaces.
The Lambri apartment is a winner of the prestigious A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award recognizes the apartment's well-designed, practical, and innovative features that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributes to a better world.
With its beach-inspired design, unique features, and seamless integration of the beach atmosphere, the Lambri apartment stands as a testament to Gisele Taranto's talent and creativity in creating an urban beach house that offers a truly exceptional living experience.
